"KENNY MILLIONS JAMS"
Hum Ha Records #2

CD REVIEW: - City Link Magazine -
"Kenny Millions recorded one of the most adventurous jazz albums to come out of Florida this year (maybe ever), and he did it all by himself.  Behind his squalling saxophone, Millions adds electronic samples, mini-guitar, drums and indiscriminate shouting,
all to wild effect on Kenny Millions Jams, recorded live at Sushi Blues (without an audience, though), the Hollywood club he owns with his wife.  Although it carries a heavy avant-garde vibe, and some of the samples border on obsessive-compulsive, the album really owes a great debt to Millions' Detroit background, where he heard and was influenced by great blues and R&B honkers and shouters.  Certainly, the gritty, honky-tonk flavor he imparts on his horn, the blues-grounded backbeat and his shouts of vocal encouragement (to himself) are all inspired by that tradition."
